Fervent Events Complete Lifestyle Challenge!

On Tuesday 3rd April our team completed a 4-week lifestyle challenge under the expert tutelage of CrossFit 416 and BODZii!

This year, Fervent Events internal mandate is professional development, we’re wanting to improve our knowledge and expertise continuously to enhance client marketing programs.  Incorporating a health and wellness aspect and investing in ourselves seemed like a compatible add-on.

Fervent Events reached out to one of Toronto’s most reputable gyms – CrossFit 416, located on Queens Quay West.  Unbeknownst to us, CrossFit 416 offered a corporate lifestyle package.  This package included more than the sought after work out plan.  Staff had a full body scan on day one of the challenge and a nutritional seminar by BODZii, a CrossFit 416 subsidiary.  BODZii Head Coach Robyn Shaw then checked in weekly at our office to provide meal planning advice, monitor progress and set weekly goals.  Finally, the team trained two days per week with CrossFit 416 Head Trainer Rachel Koo.  The training was excellent.  Staff discussions the next day (after training) went from being about how sore we felt, to how good we felt within a few weeks.

The Lifestyle Challenge Included

  • In-body scan
  • Nutritional advice and tracking (weekly)
  • 9 x gym sessions

The team tested on day one and retested four weeks later during the 9th and final session.  All the team improved on original test results.  Furthermore, the team lost an accumulated 21.6 pounds in weight!  Most importantly, it was a fun experience and something we’ll look at doing annually.

We would highly recommend a corporate lifestyle challenge to any business, large or small. When it comes to employee engagement and activities, this is likely the best investment we’ll make this year.

A huge shout out and thank you to Robyn Shaw (BODZii) and Rachel Koo (CrossFit 416). Both trainers were extremely professional and authentic.  One concern I had going into it was – would the trainers get frustrated, as our team are a level (or three!) below their usual athletes?  Not at all.  They were instantly aligned with our capabilities, not the other way around, which I think is an important note for any businesses considering this program.

Phase two is about keeping this going on our own!
