Getting a permit to use a space for an event is time-consuming, stressful, and can be expensive if you don’t have a plan in place. Event permit management is different in every city, in every province, from Toronto to Vancouver. The process, how long it takes, and whose approval you need is varied, but one thing is certain: it’s equally nerve-wracking if you do it without support or a plan.
Multiple permits for food, alcohol

A lot goes in to determine what permits are needed: Is this a sampling activation? If so, will there be food? What about alcohol? Separate permits are needed for both. Then there’s making sure all of your promo reps and brand ambassadors have their Food Handler’s Certificate and SmartServe (alcohol serving license in Ontario) including copies in case there’s an inspection.
